Ambode To Be Impeached For "Daring" To Contest Against Candidate Backed By Tinubu?

*Tension in Lagos over governor’s fate

There is palpable tension in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state over Monday’s governorship primary of the party as the chance of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in securing a second term ticket is said to be uncertain.

Unfortunately, he could even be impeached as Governor.

36 out of the 39 APC lawmakers in Lagos state House of Assembly endorsed the candidacy of Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday even as there are speculations that the governor might face impeachment for his insistence to re-contest despite losing the goodwill of party stakeholders.

57 local council chairmen had earlier queued behind Sanwo-Olu. And to further brighten his chance, another APC governorship aspirant, Babafemi Hamza earlier on Saturday stepped down for him.

The Director General of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Campaign Organization (BOSCO), Mr. Tayo Ayinde in a statement welcomed the decision of Hamza to step down for Sanwo-Olu.

“As a group, we wish to profoundly acknowledge and commend Dr. Femi Hamzat for his show of sportsmanship to our common cause.”

How will Ambode come out of this conspiracy? Time will tell.

Minister Adebayo Shittu Now Ready To Go For NYSC

Adebayo Shittu, Minister of Communication, has said it would be his pleasure to participate in the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC).

The minister, who was recently screened out of participation in the governorship primary of the party, for not participating in the NYSC scheme, had earlier insisted that he didn't need the certificate since he had done "higher service" in the Oyo State House of Assembly.

However, during an interview programme, State Affairs with Edmund Obilo, Shittu said he would be willing to participate in the scheme.

Asked if he would be ready to participate in the NYSC scheme, he said: "Of course, I would go. It would be a pleasant thing to go. After I'm a governor by the grace of God."

He also said he would be ready to serve wherever he was posted, stating that "I'll serve in any place, if it becomes necessary for me to go."

When asked if he would still participate in the NYSC scheme, even if he doesn't become governor, he said: "If it becomes necessary, I will. Courts would have to decide whether serving in the House of Assembly and being minister is not superior and does not replace service in the NYSC."

S*x, Alcohol, Hard Drugs: Revelations On Life In NYSC Camps

For Dorcas Ifeji, the best time of her life was in 2016, the year she participated in the one-year mandatory National youth service programme. And all of the excitement was down to the three weeks she spent in the National Youth Service Corps orientation camp...

She served in Taraba State.

Ifeji described her experience in camp as the time of her life she would always relish. As a fresh graduate, she had thought that the regimented life in the camp, with soldiers keeping a watchful eye on corps members, would be stressful, but she was wrong. The experience was almost like nothing changed for the party-loving lady.

“We had a place called Club Zero behind the Mammy Market (usually a market in military barracks where food, beverages and other things are sold); it was like a clubhouse,” she said with a sheepish smile.

When Kemi Adeosun was appointed into the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, she must have thanked her stars without knowing that a day like this would come. Not every commissioner ends up being a minister, hence after working under Ibikunle Amosun, governor of her home state of Ogun, Adeosun could have thought of other jobs but not succeeding the globally-acclaimed Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

While her colleagues presiding over other ministries are looking forward to the May 29 date, she bowed out just seven months to the end of the current administration, having been caught in a certificate scandal. Premium Times had reported how her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate was forged. Although she initially displayed calmness in the face of the storm, Adeosun succumbed to the pressure which followed the revelation.

From the time she was appointed in 2015 up till the moment she resigned, she was fraught with controversies and

2019 Election: I Dare President Buhari To Campaigns By Road – Bafarawa

A presidential aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Attahiru Bafarawa, has charged President Muhammadu Buhari, to travel by road as they move around the country to seek votes ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Bafarawa, who was in Cross River State for consultations, stated that if Buhari does so, he will see for himself the deplorable state of roads in the South-South and South-Eastern parts of the country.
He told reporters at the PDP secretariat in Calabar, that it was necessary for anyone who wants to be president to see things as they really are, so they can be moved to do something urgently about them.
“For someone to be sincere to himself and also to the people he wants to lead he has to be honest to himself and be ready to serve the people. I am aspiring to get the ticket of PDP because I want to serve the people, and I decided not to stay in Abuja or to be flying by air. That is why I spent my time to tour the entire southern and eastern states by road.
“I can afford to go by air. I can afford to take flights for my campaign but I decided to see things by myself so that if elected I know where I am going to start. I have already put what I want to do on paper.
“We cannot talk of the economy without good roads. When you expand roads, you expand business and that is the beginning of building an economy in the country. The way and manner our roads are, especially in the south-south and south-east, it is very disheartening.
“I have seen things by myself and I am challenging all the aspirants who are trying to rule the country to stop flying by air, even the president, who is looking for the second term. He should go by road and see things for himself.
I believe any reasonable person or leader who has human feelings seeing the roads of this country, I think it is something to put action into it to make sure the country is being developed,” Bafarawa stated.
